ORTHODOX CHURCH INTENDS TO GIVE LAND TO ZADAR DIOCESE

( Editorial: --> 1473 ) ZADAR, May 4 (Hina) - The Orthodox Metropolitan of Zagreb, Ljubljana and all of Italy, Jovan Pavlovic, with his assistants visited the Zadar Archbishop Ivan Prendja. On this occasion Metropolitan Pavlovic presented Archbishop Prendja with the document of intent by which the Zadar Orthodox Parish Church of St. Elias yielded two plots of land to the Zadar Diocese for the purpose of extending the Zadar Classical Grammar School, reported officials of the Zadar Diocese. Archbishop Ivan Prendja thanked Metropolitan Pavlovic for his good will and his visit, and discussed with him relations between the churches and the events that influence their work. Metropolitan Pavlovic asked Archbishop Prendja to plead for solution of certain property issues concerning the Serb Orthodox community in Zadar. (hina) jfk/mrb 041811 MET may 98
