Although they were not optimistic about finding a solution soon on the new make-up of the Council of Ministers, the party leaders pointed out the progress they had reached regarding the adoption of laws necessary for Sarajevo to submit an application for the country's European Union candidate status.
Progress has been made on the holding of a population census, the state aid system and military assistance.
The leaders of the Croat parties HDZ BiH and HDZ 1990, the predominantly Bosniak Democratic Action Party (SDA) and Social Democratic Party (SDP), and two major Serb parties, the SNSD and the SDS, were cautious in their statements at the press conference.
The new round of talks on the allocation of ministerial posts is scheduled for 15 September in Sarajevo.
