ZAGREB, April 24 (Hina) - The UN Secretary General's special envoy,
Elisabeth Rehn, on Friday denounced the Serb attack on the Croat
congregation and Cardinal Vinko Puljic, which took place on
Thursday in Derventa.
She said security measures by the Serb police were not adequate.
Rehn expressed disgust at the forceful attempts by a mob of Bosnian
Serbs in preventing Cardinal Vinko Puljic holding a mass in the name
of St George in Derventa, said a statement from the UN Mission in
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
She said members of the International Police Task Force (IPTF) saw
that some Serb police officers were in danger in the mass attack
while they were professionally carrying out their duties.
The UN emphasises that IPTF is currently studying the entire
security measures undertaken by the local police.
