ZAGREB, April 22 (Hina) - Croatian Vice-Premier Ljerka Mintas-
Hodak held talks with the OSCE high commissioner for national
minorities, Max van der Stoel, in Zagreb on Wednesday.
The two officials discussed the return of refugees and measures the
Croatian Government is undertaking in solving this problem.
On Thursday the Government will adopt a proposal on the
cancellation of the Law on Temporary Take-Over and Management of
Abandoned Property and the Law on the Renting of Flats in the
Liberated Areas.
The proposal will be sent to the Parliament's House of
Representatives for discussion.
It was estimated at today's talks that the return of all refugees to
their homes depended on the consistent implementation of the
Government Programme on Operational Return Procedures, as well as
on financial means for reconstruction.
Croatia and Germany are currently negotiating the return of Bosnian
Croats who because of security reasons do not want to return to the
areas of Bosnia-Herzegovina where they do not make a majority.
Mintas-Hodak said that as a country which had achieved the most
important progress in the process of return, Croatia would present
its experience at the forthcoming conference on the return of
refugees, to be held on April 28 in Banja Luka.
