CHINESE DELEGATION VISITS CROATIAN NATIONAL PARLIAMENT

( Editorial: --> 4204 ) ZAGREB, Apr 2 (Hina) - The president of the Chinese People's Institute for Foreign Affairs, Mei Zhaorong, Thursday visited the Croatian National Parliament where he held talks with House of Representatives vice president Jadranka Kosor. The two sides confirmed that the political relations between Croatia and China are excellent, and hoped that economic, cultural, scientific and technological relations would become stronger. Zhaorong congratulated Croatia on the successfully completed peaceful reintegration of the eastern part of the country, saying that China had a similar experience last year with Hong Kong. The Chinese guest said the same was expected to happen with Macao's return under Chinese sovereignty. There were problems only with relations with Taiwan, Zhaorong added, but pointed out China would try to return th peninsula peacefully and through negotiations, on the "one state - two systems" principle, already applied in Hong Kong.
