CROATIA HAS RECEIVED INFORMATION ON 1096 VICTIMS - GRUJIC

( Editorial: --> 3927 ) BELGRADE, April 1 (Hina) - The Croatian Government Commission for Missing and Imprisoned Persons has to date received from the Yugoslav side 1,096 documents with information about victims of the Serbian aggression on Croatia and 168 personal belongings of victims, said the head of the Croatian commission, Ivan Grujic. Grujic is leading the Croatian delegation at a two day meeting with the Yugoslav commission for missing and imprisoned persons, which is being held in Belgrade. Grujic told a press conference that a round of talks about victims buried in Vukovar's New Cemetery has finished. A big job has been completed but great tasks remain in uncovering the fate of those missing in Croatia and those who were buried on the territory of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, said Grujic. Croatia believes that the question of missing and imprisoned persons is a humanitarian issue and it will continue to inform the Yugoslav representatives regardless of the principle of reciprocity. President of the Yugoslav commission, Maksim Korac, said that the Croatian representatives have handed over 57 dossiers, which according to him is less than they expected. However, he positively assessed cooperation between the commissions and praised the quality of information presented in the 300 dossiers which the Croatian representatives have handed over to date. Based on these dossiers, 120 persons have been identified, said Korac. Korac also said that the Croatian representatives submitted information on two persons who are alive.
