OSIJEK, Sept 4 (Hina) - The president of the Croatian Democratic Party of Slavonia and Baranja (HDSSB), Vladimir Sisljagic, has said that this party will participate in the forthcoming parliamentary elections on its own, ruling out a possibility of this party making any coalition either with the governing Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) or with the strongest Opposition bloc led by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and another three parliamentary parties.

After a session of the leadership of this regional party in Osijek on Sunday, Sisljagic said at a news conference that the HDZ "does not deserve to remain in power" and that the SDP and its coalition "deserve in no way to gain the trust of the people".

He said that the HDSSB was committed to its 2005 platform, and that it would continue advocating the arrangement of Croatia into five regions and the establishment of a bicameral national parliament with one of the houses being the House of Regions.
