ZAGREB, March 19 (Hina) - The Croatian Government in a closed
session on Thursday ordered the Zagreb-based oil firm INA and the
maritime company Jadrolinija from Rijeka to reduce wages for
February and March, in line with the government wages policy for
1998. Both companies are partially owned by the Republic of
Croatia.
The Government at its meeting on Thursday confirmed draft decisions
on opening Croatian general consulates in the Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia, based in Subotica, a town in the northern Serbian
province of Vojvodina, and Kotor, a town on the Montenegrin coast.
The Government passed a decision on establishing a honorary
consulate in Pamplona, the Kingdom of Spain, and named the honorary
consul. It authorised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to obtain the
consent of the host country, which is subject to confirmation by the
Croatian President.
