ZAGREB IS READY FOR WORLD TABLE TENNIS ELITE

( Editorial: --> 8772 ) ZAGREB, March 11 (Hina) - All technical preliminaries for Zagreb Cup '98, the third international table tennis championship of Croatia, have been completed, Croatian Table Tennis Alliance president Ivan-Goran Munivrana told reporters Wednesday. Croatia is now ready for the world table tennis elite, he stressed. Zagreb Cup '98 will last from 12 to 15 March. Munivrana told reporters six of the world's ten leading table tennis players would come to Croatia, including Samsonov, Waldner, Kim Taek Soon, Gatien, Saive, Roskopf and Primorac. The president of the European Table Tennis Alliance, Stefano Bosi, is also expected to come to Zagreb and according to Munivrana, this will be the best recommendation for Croatia's capital to be the organiser of the European championship in 2002. It was also said at the press conference that 1,200 tickets were sold in two hours and that all proceeds will go to the humanitarian organisation "Let's Save the Children of Croatia".
