PRISTINA, March 6 (Hina) - Kosovo Albanian leader Ibrahim Rugova
held talks with ambassadors of the Contact Group member-states in
Pristina on Friday.
Rugova informed the Contact Group delegation about the dramatic
situation in Kosovo following the latest actions by the Serbian
police, which, he said, threatened the whole region.
The Contact Group delegation expressed deep concern over the
seriousness of the situation in the area of Drenica, where police
attacks were the strongest.
United States diplomat Richard Miles, accredited to Belgrade,
handed Rugova a letter by special US envoy Robert Gelbard.
Germany's Ambassador to Belgrade conveyed to Rugova a message by
the German Foreign Minister Klaus Kinkel.
Rugova asked the governments of the Contact Group countries to do
all they could to prevent an even direr tragedy and save ethnic
Albanians in Kosovo, especially in Drenica.
