MOSTAR, March 3 (Hina) - Head of the Mostar office of the
International High Representative Martin Garrod and director of
Mostar's office of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in
Europe, David Foley, positively assessed Monday's meeting of all
six Mostar municipal councils at which their deputy mayors were
appointed according to last year's municipal election results.
In the three predominantly Croat municipalities, Bosniaks were
named as deputy mayors. They were candidates of the Coalition for a
Whole and Democratic Bosnia-Herzegovina party, led by the Party of
Democratic Action. In the three predominantly Bosnia
municipalities Croats were appointed as deputy mayors. The were
candidates of the Croatian Democratic Union B-H.
Garrod and Foley said this was a very important step forward.
Kelly Moore, spokeswoman for the International Police Task Force
(IPTF), said she was satisfied with the work to date of local Croat
police in regards to two British journalists who went missing last
Friday but were found on Saturday evening.
She said that IPTF was present when the two journalists were
questioned about what had happened.
