SARAJEVO, Mar 3 (Hina) - NATO forces stationed in Bosnia-
Herzegovina will not intervene in Kosovo if further conflicts occur
on that territory because their mandate is restricted to B-H and
Croatia only, Stabilisation Force (SFOR) spokesman Luois Garneau
told a media conference in Sarajevo on Tuesday.
He confirmed that the unfolding of events in Kosovo is cause for
concern in the international community but NATO headquarters are
responsible for analysing the situation not the SFOR command
because it is not part of its mission.
We do not have plans to station our soldiers in Kosovo, it is not our
job but NATO's, said Garneau.
According to Garneau, apart from implementing the Dayton Agreement
in B-H, SFOR's task is securing support in eastern Slavonia if it
becomes urgent.
He says the current mandate excludes possible involvement in Kosovo
or Macedonia.
