ZAGREB, 14 Jan (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa
received the new US Ambassador William Dale Montgomery on
Wednesday.
Montgomery said after the meeting that he arrived in Croatia at a
time which was very important for Croatia - the completion of the
peaceful reintegration of the Danube river region.
The United States supported the return of all refugees to their
homes and that is not something only one state should take care of,
Montgomery said, describing the return of refugees as a regional
question.
He added he hoped that Bosnian Croats would also be able to return to
their homes.
Croatia guarantees the fulfilment of all obligations it has taken
over, said Prime Minister Matesa.
The two officials also discussed the revival of Croatia's economy,
which will facilitate the return of displaced people and refugees.
One should work on improving economic cooperation with the US
because the presence of American companies on the Croatian market
is still insignificant, Matesa said.
