THE HAGUE, 7 Jan (Hina) - The International Criminal Tribunal for
Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) on Wednesday accepted a request by the
defence of Zlatko Aleksovski to be allowed to consult the defendant
before and after the main hearing.
Aleksovski's attorneys Goran Mikulicic and Srdjan Joka on Tuesday
objected to the decision of the Dutch authorities forbidding the
defence to visit the defendant in the detention centre after 5 pm.
The defence claimed that this decision violated the right of the
defendant to unrestricted communication and counselling with his
defence.
Presiding judge Almiro Rodrigues said the defence could talk with
Aleksovski one hour before the beginning of the hearing and visit
him in the detention centre after the hearing.
