ZAGREB, Dec 16 (Hina) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Cakovec-based Medjimurska Bank on Thursday signed a contract, worth two million German marks. This is an amount to which the EBRD will give
guarantees for the Medjimurska Bank collateral with which the Croatian bank will provide importers and exporters, the Zagreb-based EBRD office reported today. In this way, the Medjimurska Bank can double its current activity in offering collateral to clients in import and export operations. The Medjimurska Bank's Management Chairman Masan Sredanovic said the contract with the EBRD would make it possible for his bank to have a better access to foreign markets. He viewed this deal as the confirmation of the continued support of the EBRD to Croatia's economy and banking system.(hina) mm ms
