ZAGREB, Dec 1 (Hina) - Presidents of the Croatian Peasants' Alliance and the Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS) Ivan Kolar and Zlatko Tomcic on Wednesday signed an agreement on cooperation. According to one of the total of five items
included in agreement, the HSS is obliged to, upon taking over authority, cooperate with the Croatian Peasant' Alliance in the implementation of economic and social policies, as well as the protection and promotion of rights of farmers and their families. HSS President Zlatko Tomcic said that the agriculture needed a firm and clear decision, because, he said, the agriculture and village were political and not professional issue. He stressed that none of the mandates of the Croatian Agriculture and Forestry Ministry succeed to impose on the Government that the agriculture and village have a strategic position. According to one of the total of five items included in agreement,

the Croatian Peasant' Alliance in the implementation of economic

rights of farmers and their families.
HSS President Zlatko Tomcic said that the agriculture needed a firm
and clear decision, because, he said, the agriculture and village

He stressed that none of the mandates of the Croatian Agriculture
and Forestry Ministry succeed to impose on the Government that the
agriculture and village have a strategic position.
This obligation is taken over by the HSS and a minister and crew, who
would, after the upcoming elections, be from the HSS, Tomcic said.
The HSS President promised to protect the domestic agriculture and
farmers, increase initiative, work on the creating a recognisable
domestic product, satisfy needs for food from Croatian fields. He
said they were to prohibit the manipulation of genetically modified
products, even in research purposes.
Kolar said that the primal aim would be that the domestic production
received its status.
