ZAGREB, Nov 30 (Hina) - The Head Council of the Croatian Social
Liberal Party (HSLS) on Tuesday unanimously adopted lists of
candidates who will run for an impending parliamentary election,
HSLS president Drazen Budisa told the press after the council's
evening session.
The lists include the names of 50 top HSLS officials, including the
party's president, vice president, secretary-general, and members
of the Head Council, Budisa said.
According to announcements from the HSLS, the party's candidates
will hold the leading positions on joint lists with HSLS's
coalition partner, the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in three of
ten electoral units in Croatia.
Budisa said his party was not familiar with the names of the
candidates which the SDP would put forward, which is in keeping with
a previous agreement that the two parties would compose their lists
separately. Both parties will have the right to voice objections to
each other's candidates.
Budisa estimates the HSLS could win between 16 and 20 seats in the
post-electoral parliament's House of Representatives.
