SEKS: THOSE WHO WANT TO COUNTERPOISE HDZ REPRESENT FOREIGN INTERESTS

BJELOVAR, Nov 9 (Hina) - A Croatian Democratic Party (HDZ) vice- president Vladimir Seks said in Bjelovar on Tuesday that "in this pre-election time, some, who believe that they can be a counterpoise to the HDZ, are representing foreign interests which are often contrary to national interests, which jeopardises Croatia's stability and security". "At a time when there is a wish to force the HDZ to retreat, the party's membership must be able to face their historic task just like it did at the time of the establishment of and struggle for the Croatian state", Seks said at a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the HDZ in Bjelovar. Another party vice-president, Ivic Pasalic, said it was time for the HDZ "to start another 10 years with a grand victory at the elections". "This requires general mobilisation of all party members and unity regardless of differences", Pasalic said. He added that "many opposition leaders are now visiting different world centres which had done everything in their power with the aim of preventing the establishment of Croatia". "It is this message the HDZ has to convey to the electorate and it is obliged to warn them about attempts to attack anything that the HDZ has built and anything that is Croatian", Pasalic said.
