GATA, Oct 1 (Hina) - The anniversary of a massacre committed by Chetniks, headed by priest Momcilo Djujic, in Gate (Split hinterland) on October 1, 1942, was marked on Friday. The youngest victim of the massacre was 9 months old and
the oldest was 87. During the commemorative gathering held before the Gata parish church, one of rare survivors of the massacre Andrija Pivcevic, who was eight and a half years old at the time, said he lost all of his family and relatives on that day. Gata looked like Skrabinja in the Homeland War (1991-1995). I was stabbed nine times and by God's miracle, I managed to stay alive, Pivcevic said. Djujic was the leader of Chetniks from the southern Croatian town of Knin during World War Two. The former Yugoslavia filed several requests for his extradition.
