Mine-clearing in the county will take some 20 years, Dubravko
Krusarovski, head of the Croatian Demining Centre field office in
Osijek, told Hina earlier this week.
Krusarovski announced several mine-clearing projects which are to
be launched in the near future, including the mine-clearing of farm
land along the Osijek-Beli Manastir roads.
Mine-clearing is financed mostly by the state budget, via donations
by other countries' governments', various non-governmental
organisations, and a World Bank loan.
Krusarovski in particular commended "Croatian Forests", which is
financing the mine-clearing of a wooded area in the Kopacki Rit
natural reserve.
