SARAJEVO, July 7 (Hina) - The first session of the Croatian Forum of
Bosnia-Herzegovina (BH), which was to take place on July 9, was
postponed until further notice after several Bosnian Croat parties
refused to take part in the session.
According to a Wednesday statement from Bosnian Presidency
chairman Ante Jelavic's Office, the session should have discussed
the constitutional position of Croats in Bosnia.
The statement said the parties which cancelled their
participation, almost at the last minute and with unconvincing
reasons, were the Croatian Peasants' Party of BH, the Croatian
People's Community, and the New Croat Initiative.
The cancellations have brought into question the forum's
previously agreed concept, especially because part of the
editorialists and moderators should have been from the three stated
parties, Jelavic said.
He especially regretted the fact that with their unwise behaviour,
some individuals had also brought into question the authority of
cardinal Vinko Puljic, who supported the forum, and the fact that
Banja Luka bishop Franjo Komarica would not have the opportunity to
speak about the return of displaced Croats, which, he assessed,
would have been of great importance for the Banja Luka area.
