PRISTINA, Dec 24 (Hina) - Roman Catholic Bishop of Prizren (Kosovo) was quoted on Sunday by a daily "Bota Sot" as calling for the fight against violence in the area. Roman Catholic Bishop Mark Sopi said that after the victory had been
achieved in Kosovo, resolute endeavours should be made to discontinue violence. Kosovo is predominantly inhabited by ethnic Albanians who are Moslem believers. However, some Albanians and a tiny ethnic Croatian community (reduced to about 750 families after the long Serbian oppression and the armed conflict) are the Catholic faithful. Serb inhabitants belong to th Serbian Orthodox Church. On the occasion of Christmas holidays, the Roman Catholic Church has organised several events and two of them which took part in Zjum and Letnica drew four thousand people each. Kosovo Democratic Alliance leader Ibrahim Rugova issued a
Christmas message and wished a Merry Christmas to Catholic
believers. He called on them and other citizens of Kosovo to cherish
peace and tolerance.
