PAVIC, GRUBISIC, HRVACIC, MAIC, JURAK DETAINED AT POLICE STATION

ZAGREB, Dec 4 (Hina) - Police have detained Ninoslav Pavic, Vinko Grubisic, director of the "Globus Holding" company Ivan Majic, director of the Obiteljski Radio Juraj Hrvacic, Zdravko Jurak, and another person, attorney for the Europa Press Holding company, Vesna Alaburic, told reporters Monday night. The six are being accused of conspiracy to commit crime, white- collar crime, and abuse of office, not of founding a criminal organisation, as the Republika daily writes, Alaburic said, explaining that the acts of which they are suspected had no elements of violence. In its first issue, Republika today published a copy of a confidential partnership agreement, alleging that Ninoslav Pavic, Vinko Grubisic, Ivic Pasalic, and Miroslav Kutle control the media via ownership in high circulation press publisher Europa Press Holding, weekly Imperijal, television stations OTV and Nova TV, radio stations Narodni radio and Obiteljski radio, and a dozen other among the biggest local television and radio stations. The ministries of justice and the interior confirmed on Monday an investigation was underway into the so-called partnership agreement. Ninoslav Pavic is the chairman of the Europa Press Holding management board, Vinko Grubisic is co-owner of OTV, and Majic is director of "Globus Holding", owned by Miroslav Kutle. Along with Pavic, Jurak founded the Globus weekly which is one of Europa Press Holding papers. The two severed ties in 1996. (hina) lml
