Of 17 members of "the football government", who voted confidence in
Blazevic seven days ago (16:1), 13 members attended the first
extraordinary session of the new Executive Committee.
"I am leaving because I don't enjoy the confidence of the people. I
am in a very difficult condition and maybe my resignation will
radically change the situation and the team will finally face
better days," Blazevic told reporters.
Even though he has already received first offers for new contracts,
Blazevic stressed he was definitively retiring.
"I don't believe that I am going to accept a new offer, even though
it would not be so bad to go to an overseas country".
The new coach could be elected by late November, 2000.
