ZAGREB, Oct 16 (Hina) - One can expect that tensions between the government and Homeland Defence War soldiers will lessen following the adoption of the Declaration on the Homeland Defence War, the head of the main committee of
Croatian Disabled Homeland War Veterans (HVIDRA) county branches, Ivica Perkovic, said on Monday. "Despite its numerous flaws, we are satisfied in principle with the Declaration," Perkovic told Hina. "After this, one can expect that tensions between the government and soldiers will lessen," said Perkovic, whose association slammed the new authorities for criminalising the Homeland Defence War. The Parliament adopted the Declaration with a majority vote on Friday with the intention to put an end to the radical politicising of the Homeland War and polarisation in the society.(hina) rml
