POLICE IN NORTH CRO. ARREST 80 FOREIGNERS WITHOUT IDENTIFICATION

CAKOVEC, Oct 4 (Hina) - Over the last 24 hours, Croatian police have caught three groups of foreigners, 80 in all, without identification in an attempt to illegally cross the Croatian border into Slovenia, Medjimurje County police said on Wednesday. Eleven Iranians, who had been headed for the Slovene village of Kog, were caught on the Croatia-Slovenia border. They were taken south to the Licko Petrovo Selo border crossing with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Another 25 Iranians were apprehended in Gornji Hrascan, as well as two Croats who had been acting as guides. Shortly before midnight, a police patrol found four Tunisians and 40 Iranians in a country house in the northern Croatian village of Prekop. Twelve of the 40 Iranians had already been arrested in Croatia for illegally crossing borders.(hina) ha jn
