The Labour, Social Policy, and Health Committee today also discussed a draft anti-mine activity national programme, whose final goal is to see Croatia rid of mine-fields by 2010 at the latest. It was said during debate demining would cost 9.5 billion kuna ($1.12 billion). About 600 square kilometres of Croatian territory is still mine- infested, while 3,900 square km are suspected of being covered with mines. (hina) ha jn
