ZAGREB COMPANIES END PROTEST STAGED EARLIER TODAY ZAGREB, Sept 26 (Hina) - About 200 employees with the meat-processing industry 'Zagrepcanka trgovina' and 'Dekor' company for the production of road signalling equipment, who staged a
protest rally in front of the Government building in Zagreb's St. Mark's Square on Tuesday, ended the protest after talks with Assistant Economy Minister Kamilo Vrana. Employees with 'Zagrepcanka trgovina' were protesting because the company's management has requested the majority owner - the Croatian Privatisation Fund - to initiate bankruptcy proceedings. After today's talks, Vrana and representative of employees Mario Ivekovic said it was agreed that in case of bankruptcy of the 'Zagrepcanka trgovina', a group of independent experts would draw a plan of reorganisation and the care of employees. Employees with 'Zagrepcanka trgovina' were protesting because the

Employees with 'Dekor', a company whose majority owner is the
state, who joined the protest rally, seeking the payment of unpaid
wages and assistance funds worth 850,000 kuna, which, according to
Ivekovic, would be enough for the company to overcome the crisis and
start the production.
