SPLIT, Sept 15 (Hina) - An association gathering Homeland War veterans-employees of the Split shipyard, who in May 1991 organised a protest meeting in front of the then JNA command building in Split, on Friday organised a meeting
supporting the Headquarters for the protection of dignity of the Homeland War and expressing their bitterness at the apprehension of Croatian officers. The protesters also sent a letter to Croatian President Stipe Mesic and Prime Minister Ivica Racan, saying they "do not believe (Mesic and Racan) when they claim that the purpose of the apprehensions was crime prevention and the punishment of war criminals."
