SPLIT, Aug 1 (Hina) - Employees with the Split-based hotel complex 'Lav' on Tuesday started a week-long protest rally in the vicinity of the hotel building near the road running along the Adriatic coast. The workers, 130 of them, are
not obstructing traffic. Carrying messages written in several languages, the workers say they want to inform their former guests about the situation at the hotel, which used to be one of Croatia's best hotels. The workers are dissatisfied with the government's policy toward the hotel, whose majority owner is the state. They refuse bankruptcy proceedings and support a good sale instead of the sale model offered by the Croatian Privatisation Fund. The employees have not received their salaries for six months.(hina) rml
