NEW YORK, July 25 (Hina) - Croatia believes a European regional meeting on economic cooperation, scheduled for December, should focus on "financing development, especially in conditions of economic privatisation," a Croatian official said on Tuesday. Jelena Grcic-Polic, charge d'affaires with Croatia's permanent mission to the United Nations, took part in a debate on regional cooperation during the final week of UN's Economic and Social Council's annual conference in New York. She said regional economic commissions had a very significant role because they promoted UN-advocated economy- and development-oriented objectives. "The Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) continues to have the important task of assisting and researching economic privatisation processes which many (UN) countries go through," she said.
