SIBENIK-KNIN COUNTY SIBENIK, July 6 (Hina) - There are currently eight bush-fires burning in Sibenik-Knin County, central Croatian coastal area, including some which broke out several days ago, county police said on Thursday
afternoon. A fire near Velika Glava which broke out on July 3 has thus far caught about 420 hectares of grass, underbrush, and wood. A fire-fighting aircraft has been trying to extinguish the fire since earlier today. Fire-fighters, 271 of them, are working on putting out a fire which broke out below Promine hill on July 4, and has to date burned 300 hectares of grass, underbrush, and wood. Due to the high number of bush-fires and the gravity of the situation, a crisis centre coordinating extinguishing activities was set up in Drnis yesterday. Other counties have been urged to assist. Forty fire-fighters arrived from Zagreb this morning.(hina) ha
