ZAGREB, May 16 (Hina) - Representatives of Croatia's veterans' associations and authorities on Tuesday said they were satisfied dialogue had commenced in view of alleviating mutual tension. "This certainly is a good start," said Djurdja Adlesic, chairwoman of parliament's Internal Affairs and National Security Committee, following a closed, two-hour meeting called by parliament president Zlatko Tomcic. "A whole series of very justified reasons for the dissatisfaction of particular associations has been identified, but there has also been condemnation of unfair public statements which are aimed at creating public chaos," parliament president Tomcic said. HVIDRA (Association of Croatian Homeland War Military Invalids) president Marinko Liovic told reporters he was glad representatives of legally elected authorities had begun dialogue with Croatia's veterans. Adlesic announced the drafting of conclusions in agreement with the War Veterans Committee in view of drawing attention to the need of a better law on veterans' rights, clearer relations with The Hague tribunal, and better communication with the government.
