Kosor earlier stated that the election date would be announced after Croatia concluded accession negotiations with the European Union. On Thursday evening, the remaining four policy chapters in those talks were closed.
Thanking the coalition partners for standing by her "in hard times", Kosor said today that they would hold a meeting next week to see what "is the best for Croatia".
She said that her government and coalition partners had made "difficult political decisions until the last day (of EU talks)".
