ZAGREB, June 20
(Hina) - According to measurement stations in Sisak,
the concentration of all polluting substances in the air, measured by
those stations after a fire broke in the Sisak oil refinery on Monday,
were within allowable limits and there was no need for additional
measures, the Croatian Environmental Protection Ministry reported this
afternoon.
The blaze broke out in the oil refinery in Sisak, 50 kilometres southeast of Zagreb, on Monday morning and was later contained.
There were no casualties and the INA oil company said the accident had no repercussions for the environment.
The fire is to be completely extinguished later today.
The cause of the accident is still unknown.
