The verdict delivered today by the Split County Court's trial chamber, presided by Judge Ivo Rupic, can be appealed.
The indictment reads that after an argument erupted between Split residents Denis Duvnjak and Ante Biuk with two International Protection Force members (IFOR), the men started a brawl after they left the club. Dejan Skaro later joined in the fight and threw a stone at Simon Lee Terrence Jeans, who was staying by the side and did not participate in the brawl. The stone hit him in the head, causing fatal wounds of which he later died.
Skaro stood two trials for the murder but was acquitted. At this third trial he was charged with inflicting fatal injuries.
The Implementation Force (IFOR) was a NATO-led multinational force in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a one-year mandate from 20 December 1995 to 20 December 1996 under the codename Operation Joint Endeavour.
