Jandrokovic, who was attending a Central European Initiative meeting in Trieste, told reporters that Croatia was very satisfied and proud of what it had done in the last 20 years, and of five and a half years of negotiation.
The minister said he expected the European Council to agree with the Commission's assessment which would mean "the finalisation of Croatia's negotiations and the beginning of a new era in the life of Croatia and its citizens".
"We are ready for full membership, and Croatia as a new member will enrich the EU," he said.
Jandrokovic reiterated that the monitoring of Croatia's fulfillment of obligations would last from the finalisation of the negotiations until the end of the ratification of the Croatia-EU accession treaty.
This monitoring is normal procedure and will further motivate us to continue with the reforms, so that we enter the EU strong and fully prepared, he said.
