VIENNA STAGE NINTH TRADITIONAL BALL VIENNA, Feb 27 (Hina) - The ninth Croatian ball, a traditional event staged by Croats in Vienna, was held at Eschenbach Palace in the Austrian capital on Saturday evening in the organisation of the
Austrian-Croatian Community for Culture and Sports. The Community was established in 1991, and gathers Croats in Austria and the homeland. Welcoming the people attending, Community president Jakov Barisic said the ball was "an occasion to approach others, Austrians as well as all people of good will, while preserving our singularity." "The Croatian ball is not only an opportunity to meet for our people who have been living or are currently staying in Vienna, but also a sign of our presence in the capital of very friendly and close Austria," said Croatian Ambassador Ivan Ilic, who also recalled the long-standing political, cultural and economic ties linking Zagreb and Vienna.(hina) ha
