Autor: mses
ZAGREB, June 10 (Hina) - Members of the Croatian parliament on Friday discussed a financial statement on the performance of the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) in 2010 when that bank approved a total of 1,606 loans in the amount of HRK 6.62 billion, which was by 7.5 percent more than in 2009.

The bank developed new credit programmes to suit needs of Croatian business people, the HBOR managing board chairman, Antun Kovacev told the parliament.

The new programmes were applied for small and medium-sized enterprise, rural infrastructure and economy, and for the enhancement of Croatian entrepreneurs' competitiveness, he added.

The strongest support was offered to Croatian exporters. Under the export support programme, a total of 406 loans in the amount of HRK 2.99 billion were granted last year.

There were 447 loans for SMEs in the amount of HRK 1.1 billion.

In 2010, HBOR registered revenues of HRK 921 million, and HRK 803 million in expenditures.

Parliamentary clubs said that in the time of great economic challenges HBOR played an important role in provision of loans to the economy and entrepreneurship.
