ZAGREB, Jan 2 (Hina) - Some Croatian celebrities, including boxer Zeljko Mavrovic, actors Vili Matula and Sanda Miladinov Langerholtz and writer Miljenko Jergovic, will participate in the supervision of Monday's parliamentary election
and the January 24 presidential election, members of the association GONG (Organised Election Monitoring By Citizens) told reporters in Zagreb on Sunday. Within a campaign entitled "We Citizens Monitor," the GONG has gathered more than 5,500 volunteers in the whole of Croatia as well as about 30 monitors abroad, it was said. Boxer Mavrovic expressed his support for GONG monitors and their
efforts. He announced that, if the GONG was granted a licence, he
would participate as a monitor in the presidential election.
The GONG must make this election completely transparent, said
writer Jergovic.
