ZAGREB, Oct 8 (Hina) - Talks between the unions and the Croatian Power Industry (HEP) management were discontinued last Friday because the two sides failed to reach agreement on workers' rights from the new collective agreement, the
unions reported on Monday. The two sides had different stands regarding the status of workers during the restructuring of the HEP, including severance pays and the duration of the collective agreement, the president of the Croatian Power Supply Union (HES), Dubravko Corak, told Hina. The union has the right to organise a strike if no agreement is reached, he said. Under the Labour Act, a collective dispute can be solved with arbitration in which case the arbitrator would make a decision which would be incorporated in the collective agreement, Corak said.(hina) rml
