ZAGREB, Aug 23 (Hina) - Croatia's Interior Minister Sime Lucin early on Thursday morning visited the eastern town of Osijek, which was rocked last night by a series of explosions on the premises of the county police department. The
blasts occurred some fifteen minutes after midnight in a container with weapons and explosive devices confiscated in police operations or voluntarily handed over by citizens. A series of explosions, which lasted until after 1 am, has caused huge material damage to the police building and nearby housing units. Three people sustained light injuries. Lucin met with the Osijek county police superintendent and other staff, who informed him about the circumstances of last night's explosion. Police teams are searching the area with demining devices and collecting explosive devices which were thrown out of the premises. An on-the-spot investigation is underway. (hina) rml
