ZAGREB, July 15 (Hina) - About 50 members of a war veteran association, called the headquarters for the protection of the Homeland War's dignity, on Sunday morning gathered in front of the Sabor's building to deliver leaflets to MPs
who arrived at the parliamentary session. According to their leaflets, these war veterans expect nothing from the incumbent authorities any longer, but they will "follow this farce so that they can tell to themselves they have used all possibilities within institutions of the system." Some members of the headquarters are in the gallery of the Sabor hall from where they are following Sunday's sitting. The headquarters was dismayed by "cynical and impudent statements" of most persons in power who claimed that they would protect the honour of Croatian citizens but who said they had to vote for the extradition of Croatian nationals to the UN war crimes tribunal. ZAGREB, July 15 (Hina) - About 50 members of a war veteran
association, called the headquarters for the protection of the
Homeland War's dignity, on Sunday morning gathered in front of the
Sabor's building to deliver leaflets to MPs who arrived at the
parliamentary session.
According to their leaflets, these war veterans expect nothing from
the incumbent authorities any longer, but they will "follow this
farce so that they can tell to themselves they have used all
possibilities within institutions of the system."
Some members of the headquarters are in the gallery of the Sabor
hall from where they are following Sunday's sitting.
The headquarters was dismayed by "cynical and impudent statements"
of most persons in power who claimed that they would protect the
honour of Croatian citizens but who said they had to vote for the
extradition of Croatian nationals to the UN war crimes tribunal.
According to the leaflets, this association accuses members of the
ruling parties of betraying the Croatian national interests and
violation of the Constitution and therefore they will be taken
before courts.
"Who else, except (President Stjepan) Mesic, (Premier Ivica)
Racan, (HNS party's leader Vesna) Pusic ..., could have imagined
that the purest commanders and heroes will be prosecuted and
imprisoned as war criminals? You can easily imagine how the
Croatian people will conduct after the change of authorities in the
near future," read the leaflets.
