For instance, this May the average temperature was by 1.7 Celsius
degree higher in towns Daruvar (about 100 kilometres east of
Zagreb) and Karlovac (50 kilometres south of Zagreb) and even by 3.3
degree in Bjelovar (50 kilometres north-east of Zagreb), in
comparison to the average registered in Mays for the past 30 years,
Croatia's Weather Bureau has reported.
According to the Bureau, the temperature conditions in northern
Slavonia (east part of the country) and Karlovac were warm for May,
very warm in other parts except the peninsula of Istria, and
extremely warm for the coastal area between Zadar and Rijeka.
The amount of precipitation ranged from 18 percent of the average in
Rijeka to 121 percent of the average in Komiza on the island of Brac
off Split.
