The meetings of the Central European Presidents started eight years
ago? on the initiative of Czech President Vaclav Havel, who believed
that informal contacts of heads of states could promote cooperation
in this part of Europe.

Campi, the meeting will be attended by the presidents of Croatia,
Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Poland,
Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, MOLDAVIA and the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia.
The situation in Southeastern Europe will also be placed on the
agenda of this informal meeting. President Mesic will hold several
bilateral talks, including the talks with Yugoslav President
Kostunica.
