ZAGREB, June 1 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament (Sabor) postponed a discussion on the government's report on the current security situation, at the request of the committee for home affairs and national policy, which assessed that a
discussion on the issue could harm ongoing investigations. Asked by some opposition MPs why the government is avoiding a discussion on the security situation, Deputy Interior Minister Josip Vresk said enquiries into recent crimes are ongoing, and a parliamentary discussion could cause problems for the probes. He asserted that the security situation is not that concerning. At today's session, before an incident erupted between vice-premier Mato Arlovic and Ivo Loncar, independent MP, the Sabor adopted amendments to the Law on Telecommunications in their first reading, amendments to the Law on Road Transport and draft amendments to the Law on Islands.(hina) lml sb
