ZAGREB, May 25 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Monday adopted a decision on the erection of a Monument to the Homeland, thus joining activities marking this year's Statehood Day. The Homeland War unified Croatia in a manner
unprecedented in the country's long history, Prime Minister Ivica Racan said at today's government session. Addressing government members, Racan recalled the 11 stormy years since the constitution of the first multiparty Croatian parliament. It is time for war wounds to heal and for dissension within the national corps to stop, Racan said. The government decision also refers to the establishment of a 17-member committee in charge of setting up the monument, which will determine the location for the monument and invite bids for its design.(hina) sb rml
