SPLIT SPLIT, May 24 (Hina) - A two-day conference of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative started in Split on Thursday with round tables on maritime affairs and transport, economy and tourism, culture and education, and prevention of crime.
The round tables, which are held in Split and nearby Trogir, are attended by three representatives each from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Slovenia and Yugoslavia. The central part of the Split gathering will take place on Friday under the chairmanship of Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula. Apart from the foreign ministers of the member-countries, the session will also be attended by representatives of the European Union, working community "Alps-Adriatic", SECI and the Stability Pact for South-East Europe. At the end of the conference, the ministers will adopt conclusions.(hina) rml
