ZAGREB, May 3 (Hina) - The newly-elected president of the Croatian Supreme Court, Ivica Crnic, told Hina and the Croatian Radio that his unanimous election in parliament demanded of him to use all his knowledge and powers to the court
which he will be presiding could fulfil its essential constitutional role -- to ensure a unified application of the law and equality among citizens. All judges in Croatia must undertake their part of responsibility to make Croatia function as a law-based state, he said. "By fulfilling its constitutional obligations, the judicial authority can and must influence the creation of an atmosphere in which civil and business moral will be strengthened," Crnic stressed.(hina) lml
