MACEDONIA: ONE ALBANIAN KILLED, TWO WOUNDED IN INCIDENTS

SKOPLJE, May 2 (Hina) - One Albanian was killed and another two were wounded in incidents which occurred in Macedonia in the wake of last Saturday's death of eight Macedonian policemen and soldiers, who were killed in an ambush, the Skoplje police said on Wednesday. On the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, three persons wearing camouflage uniforms and armed with automatic rifles and baseball bats killed an Albanian and seriously wounded another two in a Skopje cafe. The same group demolished another shop owned by an Albanian. On the other side of the town, unidentified persons fired several shots from a driving vehicle at a police container in front of the Albanian embassy. The police also reported that a large group of citizens damaged several cars and catering facilities in Bitola last night. Also attacked was a hair stylist's shop in Delcevo in eastern Macedonia. All political parties in Macedonia today condemned the attacks and called on citizens to refrain from acts of violence for the sake of peace in the country. The incidents were also denounced by an Islamic community representing non-Albanian Muslims. (hina) rml
